One of the major things I love finding are pieces of clothing that you can take from the office to the weekend. This leopard skirt is one of those pieces; a leopard skirt (pleated or straight) can be taken easily from work to the weekend with simple swaps.
There are definitely some pieces that cannot be taken to the weekend, like my favorite resume dress, it’s just not able to be an off duty look – even if you paired it with some white sneaks and a denim jacket. So when you find a piece that can pull double duty it’s a great find!
For work I paired the leopard skirt with classic black pumps and a black puff sleeve jacket / blazer. The one I’m wearing is cotton so it’s very comfortable and when paired with my $8 tank it has the makings of a very comfortable work wear outfit. The jacket looks chic in person, I was surprised at how it’s still structured and held it’s shape, especially in the sleeves with it’s fabric. This jacket is a chic take on your normal blazer – grab it immediately.
For the weekend I swapped the jacket for a leather jacket – it instantly punches up your outfit. This leather jacket has a removable “fake” hoodie. It’s not in the photo because I took it out, but the “fake” part of it is just the hood and the part that can be seen in the front. I bought mine last year and I love it! You can also see it closer here. Then I swapped the pumps for leather stiletto booties. I felt very Rebel(le) without a Cause in this outfit; almost told TM to go grab his Harley and pick me up. Then I remembered that I’m terrified of motorcycles and that tears wouldn’t go with the overall look…
Here are some other leopard skirts you can use to recreate this work or weekend look!
