So you have to go to the office but the temperature has dropped? Here’s what to wear to work when it’s too cold outside! Hot coffee optional…
This past December I finally broke down and bought a portable heater for my office. Now in my office there is a blanket AND a portable heater but I still get cold; it’s probably because there’s a huge window in my office and I refuse to break out my coldest weather clothes until after the new year. It’s part of my resolution that I can’t wear tights until the temperature drops to what Minnesota winter fall feels like.
But when there’s ice on the ground you need to make sure your office outfit is warm enough. Here’s one of my favorite outfits to wear to work when it’s too cold: turtleneck + skirt + tights + tall boots. (Have you heard my love for turtlenecks?) For the commute I toss a scarf and coat on and at the office I trade the coat for a blazer. Since I mixed navy and black in this outfit, I would have a navy blazer to match my skirt instead of a black blazer. I chose the black coat since it was longer and I pulled in the navy with the scarf.

These boots were probably one of my best purchases ever. I bought them from Target in HIGH SCHOOL and they have lasted. They can slouch or stand tall and I love that I can change that up depending on the outfit. Here are a few pairs of tall boots that would also look good to wear to work when it’s too cold outside:
If your commute is even colder make sure to add gloves, earmuffs or a hat, and a warmer scarf! Make sure to check out my favorite tights to add to your winter outfits. Then add a portable heater at your desk because the heat that comes off of that little one is delicious!
