TBH pink is not my favorite color.
I would’t have fit in with the Plastiques because pink does not exactly make up the bulk or even 10% of my wardrobe. Regina George might have kicked me out of the clique for rewearing the same pink shirts every Wednesday (yes I am fully aware today is a Wednesday).
But sometimes I feel the need to walk into work and let my outfit scream my femininity.
When I’m picking out some pink for my wardrobe there are a few things I think about before wearing the piece to work. I stay away from neon and I mean far away from it. Contrary to my sorority crush party junior year if it’s neon it should NOT be on. If your pink choice is a throw back to Crockett and Tubbs then you need to send it back to the 80s. I also watch the lengths and cuts of the pieces. If I even have a question about the length of a dress and it’s also pink then it doesn’t come home with me. If I even think it might be slightly tight it doesn’t get a hanger in my closet.
Other than those things I think pink is a great choice for the office. Personally I want to see a CEO killing it in some pink when they ring the NYSE bell but unfortunately I guess we just aren’t there yet.
Here are some more pink ideas to add to your closet:
This blouse is about as close to neon as I’d get. But I love the richness of the color of pink and the ruffles give me all the girly feels. It’s almost like a pink tuxedo shirt but updated and the opposite of dumb and dumber. Plus the buttons at the cuffs are the kind of details I go gaga over.
PS could I make any more pop culture references in this post!?
