Temperatures and the desire to shave our legs are dropping meaning we need to talk about the best tights for fall and winter. Depending on which judge I’m in front of, tights or hose are required (yeah… I eye roll too), so I’ve tried my fair share.
Best Tights for Fall & Winter
Affordable
These $8 tights from Target are cheap and won’t snag on the first wear. They didn’t snag on my and I’ve washed and worn them at least three times now.
Slimming
There’s a reason Spanx has made millions by sucking people in. These Tight Ends keep everything in and are high quality. These are a staple in my drawer.
Comfortable
These Commando tights threw me for a loop the first time I put them on – what do you mean the waistband is wider than an inch?! These are comfortable not only because of the crazy awesome waistband but the material. Silky and soft against your legs.
Worth it
Wolford is called the gold standard of tights for a reason. When you put them on you wonder why you ever wore another pair but then you look at the price tag and think that you’ll have to trade gold for them. If you want the gold medalist of tights look no further.
Nudist
For those times you want your legs covered because work is making you or black just doesn’t go with your outfit then try these nude tights from Heist. There are seven different colors of nude – while that might not seem like a lot it’s more than anyone else.
The ones I want to try
Umm they have SOCKS BUILT IN TO THE FEET. These tights from socktights basically remove the requirement to layer your tights with socks under boots – ordering them immediately.
After you’ve picked the pairs you’re going to be living in this chilly season remember to care for them so they last.
1. Wash on Gentle – make sure there are no hooks/zippers/etc in the wash with them
2. Hang Dry – no dryer
3. Careful when Getting In – remove your rings when putting them on so they don’t snag; watch your watches too!
4. Store Deliberately – fold your tights and make sure they don’t snag on the drawer or what they share the drawer with
So let’s discuss – do you wear tights because you A) have to for work B) it’s too cold outside for bare legs or C) refuse to shave your legs after November 1st. It’s C isn’t it?
