Each summer, when Texas gets brutally hot, I make sure my beauty routine changes with the temperatures. What I use in my routine changes from winter to summer because my skin needs different things – I’m sure yours does too.
Here’s the summer beauty switches I make: all the items are clickable
cream blush subs in for powder blush – I found this one a few weeks ago and I love it! It’s easily buildable and isn’t heavy on my face.
tinted sunscreen gets swapped for foundation – putting anything thick on my face in the summer makes me cringe; it’s just too much. Even layering sun screen and then a primer or lightweight foundation is too much; so I go back to my go-to: matte sun screen mixed with a tint. Gives me a healthy glow and good sun protection and you don’t have to pick a shade; it just adds a bronzed glow.
lotion gets an added dose of sun protection – you should be wearing sun screen year round but I make doubly sure that I get as much sun screen on my body. Having it in my daily body lotion just makes it that much easier. It’s an easy summer beauty switch everyone can make!
mascara goes waterproof – I sweat. I’m human. The last thing I want is mascara running under my eyes so I use waterproof mascara; I just make sure my eye makeup remover is up to the task as well.
heavy face moisturizer gets lighter – I found this water based moisturizer last summer and immediately fell in love. It’s light and it just glides over your face. I usually use it at night but it’s light enough that I can use it during the day too!
