Sometimes it difficult to see if you’re successful at work. We tend to think of promotions or big acclaim as the standards of career success but there are other ways that you can tell if you’re killing it. Here are seven signs to tell if you’re successful at work.
Little Signs You’re Successful at Work
#1 – You can talk to your boss. If you can talk to your boss in the hall or in the break room that shows you have a good relationship with them!
#2 – Coworkers ask for your thoughts. Who do you ask for help? People who know what they’re doing that’s who. If coworkers are asking for your help that means they respect your opinion.
#3 – You get a shout out at a meeting. It might not be a plaque or a promotion but the kuddos from a superior show that they see you and recognize the efforts you’re putting forth.
#4 – You get constructive criticism. People only put effort into others who they believe are worth it. If others are giving you constructive criticism it shows they believe in you and your career.
#5 – You feel comfortable taking a vacation. If you feel solid in your job that you can take a vacation without worrying about what people are saying or if your boss is going to give you crap for it then you are secure in not only your job but your relationship with your superiors. It might sound stupid but if your relationship with your boss sucks you are going to feel like you can’t take a vacay.
#6 – You get more responsibility. If you’re getting more responsibilities from your superiors that means they trust you, your judgement, and your work product.
#7 – You can recognize what’s important vs. urgent. If you can look at your to-do list and recognize what tasks are important vs urgent it means you can effectively process your job.
Celebrate these small signs you’re successful at work! Small signs add up and speak volumes about what your superiors think about you. Take the wins!
