Here’s the beauty products I’ve emptied lately and my unfiltered thoughts on them. Okay the thoughts are filtered but only in so much as I corrected spelling and language mistakes.
I usually use a clarifying/detox shampoo 1-2x per month. I don’t like to strip my hair too much and I feel like my usual shampoo gets my hair pretty clean. This detox shampoo was great; it didn’t feel like it was just raking my strands of everything but it definitely left it clean and healthy.
Buy Again? Yes. But it wasn’t a quick reorder. It was two weeks later like ‘oh yeah, I finished that bottle and need a new one now.’
I bought two sleeping moisture masks while I was prepping my skin for the wedding and this one was the one I finished first. It was the last step in my routine to seal all the moisture in. With all masks on top I get up and rinse my face and I can feel myself wiping a bit of this off but I loved that for the most part it sunk in. The one I’m finishing now doesn’t sink all the way. This Belif mask is more of a gel consistency so it dries to the touch quicker but it’s still moisturizing. Think of this as making a rind (like a cheese rind) on your face. Dry on the outside but keeps all the good stuff in. It won’t wipe away on your pillow and my skin loved it.
Buy Again? Yes, as soon as I finish my other sleeping mask I will be reordering this!
Before I work out I clean my face and then like to spray a mist on my face to give it some moisturizer but nothing that is going to mix with sweat like a lotion. I did not like this. See how there’s still some left? I couldn’t even be bothered to finish it and it’s been sitting in my beauty cabinet for over a year. The sprayer wasn’t good it sprayed in more of a line than a mist and it felt very oily going on my skin.
Buy Again? Definitely not.
This water cream was a total impulse buy and boy was I happy about it. I finished this right after my last beauty empties post and just kept it so I could talk about it when I had more empties. This is/has become my go to summer moisturizer – it’s super light going on your face but somehow manages to retain moisture. I don’t sweat it off because it doesn’t sit on your face and when it hits triple digits in Texas that’s needed.
Buy Again? Yes, probably around June.
I bought this on a recommendation from a dermatologist for these small bumps on my arms that I wanted gone before the wedding. I used it and probably will again if those bumps come back but it didn’t feel like you were really getting clean so it’s definitely not going to be a staple in my beauty cabinet.
Buy Again? Only if my skin calls for it.
I needed a new eye cream and I like this brand so I decided to try it. Either it doesn’t work or my under eyes are beyond saving. It just sits on your skin and doesn’t sink in, so in the morning it’s just gunked up under my eyes. At the end I just wanted to get this out of my cabinet so I started putting it on my hands to get rid of it.
Buy Again? Nope.
Yall know my love for this – it was in my last beauty empties. But before I order it again I’m trying the elemis cleanser. I wanted to try the hype and see what it’s all about. But the price point between this and Elemis is a major factor!
Buy Again? After I finish the Elemis Balm we’ll see.
Summer Friday Days CC Me Serum
Love this CC serum. This is like my third bottle. I came back to it after I tried another vitamin c serum because I liked this one so much better. I put this on everyday after toner and before moisturizer.
Buy Again? Unless someone tells me they’ve found the greatest vitamin c serum ever then this is a repeat purchase.
The smell, the texture, and the amount – all wonderful. This is my winter body lotion when I need some good moisturizer. It’s expensive so I don’t use it everyday but on those days when I need a little extra then yeah this is my choice of lotion.
Buy Again? In the colder months for sure.
