I confess – I used to have a problem with buying skincare and haircare when I defiantly didn’t need it. As in when I already had a two hair spray bottles I’d buy another one. Ooofda. So I’ve been methodically running through my products to empty out my shelves and see what I like, what I want to repurchase, and what I’m not completely sold on.
Here’s the beauty products I’ve emptied lately:
This dry shampoo has the same great smell that most of Ouai products have. This bottle has a different nozzle than most dry shampoos I’ve used – does it actually make a difference? I don’t know for sure but I think it does. It doesn’t leave a sticky, gritty, or thick residue unless you use it three days in a row… yeah I might have first hand knowledge of that. Doesn’t leave a white color on my brunette hair and works fast!
Buy Again? Yep. Already ordered.
I could bathe in this oil. I put it on any bit of skin that needs some extra moisturizer or relief. Put it on before bed because it will get on your clothes if not completely dry. It’s slightly expensive for the amount of product but this is the thing that your mom was talking about when she said a little goes a long way! I keep this in my bathroom and use it when my skin needs extra TLC.
Buy again? Oh yeah.
Biossance: Squalane + Omega Repair Cream
This face cream was thick and rich; it smelled fine – nothing bad or too strong. It was just… basic. It didn’t sink into my face even overnight and trust me that’s not because my face is crazy moisturized or anything. I love this line usually but this moisturizer was a miss for me.
Buy again? Not for me.
Versed: Stroke of Brilliance Brightening Serum
I have/had three different vitamin c serums at once. This was by far my least favorite. I wasn’t a fan of the dropper and the serum itself seemed really thick but then didn’t stay thick into the skin. It was weird.
Buy again? No. This is the one that I prefer.
Ouai: Body Cleanser (Body Wash)
Man I loved this stuff. It smells amazing – AH.MAZ.ING. It’s thick and lasted a long time! It made me feel like I was using “the good stuff” daily. The only issue I have is that I didn’t want to spend $30 on body wash. Is it worth it, yeah, but since this almost fills up my car with gas then I’m going to keep going with my $7 body wash.
Buy Again: Yeah, when gas isn’t >$4 a gallon
Versed: Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm
This stuff is awesome. It smells wonderful and it cleans your face of all makeup and dirt. It simply melts into your face and it lasts forever. This empty was my second jar and I can’t imagine using anything else.
Buy again: Already at my house!
Kiehl’s: Creme de Corps Nourishing Body Oil
This was wonderful on my skin; the spray bottle was a fantastic way to apply it, especially in the summer. I loved how it was a dry oil – different than the Bio-Oil above. It comes in a 5.9 oz bottle as well and that is the better buy. It sinks into your skin so fast; it’s really lovely.
Buy Again: Yep, but in the larger size.
Summer Fridays: Summer Silk Nourishing Body Lotion
Come. To. Mama. This smells like summer. It’s light and honestly I keep coming back to the smell, I need them to bottle this as a perfume. But the lotion is light enough for summer in Texas and it works!
Buy Again? Yep!
I definitely noticed a difference in my skin as I was trying to get through all my backlog of beauty products. I think it’s because I wasn’t trying to be stingy and I was really laying it on thick; really USING the products! Use the good stuff or the affordable stuff but either way – USE IT ALL!
