I loved our invitations! Which I mean everyone should love their invitations right? Honestly, we had a tiiiiiight budget for our invitations and yet had a very specific idea for my vision. I wanted to keep them simple and elegant, I wanted our names to be big (lol), a thick paper stock for the invitations – I wanted them to feel substantial, and I envisioned our theme as the envelope liner. Goodness I wanted that envelope liner.
To make the invitations fit our budget there were a few things I had to pass on – gold edging or foil, printed vellum, and then any other paper printing, like menus, signage, or programs. I ended up making those myself – did I love them? No but paper goods weren’t at the top of my priority list.
We used our wedding logo in the liner and honestly it might be my favorite part! I’m getting it framed with the invitation and I can’t wait to see it. I was so excited to see it when I picked up our invitations! Yall, I’m serious, I love it so much.
Our stationary designer was Shannon from The Inviting Pear and I could not recommend her more. She was AMAZING and made sure everything was absolute perfection! She made sure that even though we didn’t (pay to) have her assemble all the invitations she made sure I knew how to do it myself and taught me the best way to make and attach the wax seals. Man did I get the assembly down pat! If you are in need of any stationary or graphic design in the Austin area then The Inviting Pear should be your first and only choice!
I made all the seals – I ordered the customized wax seal stamp from GetMarked, I got the wax from Amazon, and used an old glue gun to make them. Travis actually ended up making most of the seals because it made them pretty much perfect. He squeezed the wax on the back of a cookie sheet, waited a bit, stamped with the seal, let it cool with the seal in it, then removed it. He had the rhythm down. After all the seals were made we used glue dots and used those to attach them to our bands on the invitations. We had larger seals for our menus later.
