You might have seen a million images and people talking about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – well it’s coming up and depending on your access you’re going to be able to get access starting as early as tomorrow. Consider me your guide to all the workwear in the 2022 Nordstrom Sale If you’re wondering when you have access here’s a table to help.
How to Start
My suggestion is to look through the preview and the catalog, if you’re so inclined to see outfits etc, and see which things you like/need/want etc. Add these things to your wish list so when you have access you can simply add to cart and check out. Make sure you go through all the categories; the big ones I hit are workwear, shoes, beauty, home, and gifts. I’d like to add to TM’s closet but he’d probably kill me so I might need to wait until we’re married to do that. Lay that groundwork a few months out right?
Strategize
Different people have different strategies: some go in to fill gaps in their wardrobe, some prefer to use the sale to buy the big ticket items they normally can’t stomach the price of; me? I go for what am I going to wear out. Idea to keep in mind: if the item isn’t good enough that you’d spend the money on it for full price then don’t buy it on sale. You might add a $30 blouse because it’s worth $30 but when it’s in your closet and you wear it maybe twice it’s going to feel like you paid full price and it isn’t worth it.
Sometimes I do buy items that don’t fit that rule. I needed a new trench a few years ago and I was willing to spend XX but I knew the sale was coming up so I saved that XX to spend on a trench that better quality for the same price I was willing to spend. Get savvy about your purchases!
I have trouble spending money on weekend items because I wear workwear so much! So for the 2022 Nordstrom Sale I’ve got plans to focus 80% of my budget on workwear and then 20% on other items. I’d rather grab a solid pair of heels or a new interesting blazer than a weekend off the shoulder top that will maybe get worn once in the next year.
Remember
Think about your budget, think about what the price per wear will be, and think about what your closet looks like. It’s perfectly fine to put something in your cart then take it out!
