Once TM moved in I took stock of everything on my bathroom beauty shelves and boy was there a lot of stuff. Most of it was half used or almost empty – I knew I needed to get through all of it and then decide which I should reorder or if I wasn’t sold on any then I would need to try something new.
Here are some of my (mostly) new beauty buys – all the items are clickable!
The cream blush is very new – I’ve never tried it before and with the Texas heat turning up I wanted to try a face without lots of powder. I like it so far but I’m going to have to get used to setting my concealer after blush. Speaking of concealer, I reordered this concealer/brightener stick. I love it for my under eyes and then I use my Nars concealer for any other imperfections I need to cover.
I added this eyebrow gel; I love the look of a defined brow but I wanted something that had a softer effect than a pencil. Still on the fence about this vs the pencil. I’ll report back when I make a decision. Ditto on this eye cream. Sometimes I think I don’t see the difference when I use and eye cream or don’t use one. My dark circles are still there either way (reason for the concealer)… let’s see if this one makes me a believer.
With my hair getting back to a long length and the fact that I won’t be cutting it anytime soon (hello wedding hair) I’m trying to get back to wearing my hair curly for work. Drying it every morning I work out gets crazy tedious; annnnnd I can actually make a proper breakfast if I just diffuse it rather than round brush my hair. I grabbed this curl cream and I’m trying the whole bowl method too.
Speaking of wedding prep I’m trying to add collagen to my routine at any point I can. I’ve been shoving it in food, I can’t drink it in plain water, I just can’t, so when I found this collagen body oil I jumped. It’s a ‘cheaper’ body oil and it’s been amazing. I put it on right after my shower and right before bed *boom* softest skin in the morning and I feel like I’m doing a small step toward wedding prep too.
This exfoliant was a pure impulse buy after I read some list about a billion five star reviews on Buzzfeed. Do I love it? Eh. Do I think it’s transforming my skin like everyone else says it would? No. Do I think it’s a good exfoliant and it way better than scrubbing my face with something akin to apricot scrub? Most definitely. I’m seeing a dermatologist in a few weeks so I will make sure to get their view on this product.
Last but not least, this lip gloss / lip stain. I’ve been trying this same product in different colors for a few months and I LOVE the product but I needed to find my daily shade. Finally found it, ‘Guest of Honor.’ Listen, when I tell you this stuff stays on your lips all day, I mean ALL DAY. It’s almost 11pm as I’m writing this and I put it on at 7am and it’s still on. It started wearing off around 8pm after dinner tonight. It stayed through coffee, lunch, diet coke, water, afternoon snack, and a glass of wine. Yall IT STICKS!
