It sometimes seems like everybody and their mother is heavily invested in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – they live and breathe it and for the most part I’m over here like
Don’t get me wrong – the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is fantastic if you go in with a budget and a plan. If you go in and plan to purchase an entirely new fall wardrobe then let me know because I want to live vicariously through your shopping bag. It’s usually kind of overwhelming you go through and it’s pages and pages of markdowns and without a plan of attack your wish list/shopping bag ends up being full of oooohhh that looks pretty pieces and not this fills a hole in my wardrobe pieces.
I also understand we are coming off a pandemic and just getting back into the office and hyping up $$$ items is simply too much. I’ve looked through the NSale with that in mind and my Workwear Picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale aren’t anything that is going to break the bank. They are classic pieces that will get your price per wear down because you’re going to wear them so much.
My NSale Tips:
- Preview the Sale and create your wish list. Curate your list wisely!
- Make sure you’re signed up for the Nordy Club – it’s free to join, it’s not a credit card, and you still get to rack up points!
- You can make multiple purchases; so if you’re ready to pull the trigger on some $$$ boots buy those first and then go back if you need another minute to decide on a blouse

Good News – I’ve gone through the preview for workwear picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale so you don’t have to. I take thank yous in fountain diet cokes and puppy pictures.
The preview opened Tuesday and depending on your Nordstrom Card “status” your access to the sale opens on different days. After looking through the preview I’ve added things to my wish list so I can snatch them up when the sale is open to me.
Here are the things I’m excited to add to cart in the Nordstrom Sale:
This dress has it all. It’s not too tight, it has sleeves (which means you don’t need a blazer or cardigan), it’s an appropriate length, and it’s cinched waist is good for anyone and any size. Plus the color looks good on any skin tone – everyone knows I love a good burgundy!
This blouse comes in white and black but the white is calling my name. It’s a new take on a crisp button down and I am here for it!
This blazer has me drooling. The fabric and the two tone color scheme is going to make my black and navy dreams come true. Add black slacks and you’ve got a killer day to drinks outfit.
Meet my new go to dress. I am going to be pulling this dress out of my closet when I don’t know what to wear. I love it with the shown sandals or with pumps or some suede loafers.
My go to pants lately but in a different cut. Grab these in a size up if you don’t like things too tight. They’ll make the transition from yoga pants to work trousers easier…
I snagged this blouse at last year’s sale and I love it. I’m grabbing it in black this year. It sold out quick so make sure to add yours to your wish list so you quickly add to cart.
Everyone needs a classic trench coat. This one is single breasted with buttons on the pockets that I love and it’s a great length. You can wear it for commuting to the office or with jeans and white tee for the weekend. This is a great buy for your staple wardrobe.
At $35, this top is a fantastic buy for work. It comes in five colors and one print. The draping is beautiful and the long sleeves will take you through fall, winter, and into spring.
If you have ever wanted a red dress this is the one that will last. I’ve had Tahari dresses for years and they hold up dry cleaning after dry cleaning. The faux wrap is beautiful and it’s going to hug every curve… in a good way!
Come to mama. This cardigan is right up my alley – subtle colors, braided detailing, MACHINE WASHABLE, and structured in an unstructured way.
