Work dress codes are changing – some are going back to offices with more relaxed dress codes and some are changing jobs and getting a new dress code altogether. Anyway you slice it you probably have some clothing pieces in your closet that can be difficult to style for you work dress code. Here’s a new series on how to style pieces for your office – first up is styling a pleated skirt for every work dress code!
The four dress codes I’ll be styling this black pleated skirt for are: Business Professional, Business Casual, Smart Casual, and Casual. Here are some selections of black pleated skirts in all price points.
Business Professional
grey herringbone blazer + white ruffle tank + black pumps
The pleated skirt needs some structure to make it work for business professional which is exactly what this blazer does to the look. Try belting this blazer if you want to switch up your blazer addition.
Business Casual
white 3/4 sleeve blouse + black pumps + structured black tote
Simple and classic this black and white look goes business casual or could even swing into business professional. The heels and structured bag bring this look home.
Smart Casual
camel sweater + leopard flats
This outfit is substantially similar to the ‘Casual’ dress code outfit but there is one main difference – the fabric of the top. This sweater is a step up than the cotton tee below. Match your flats to your sweater and you elevate your pleated skirt to the ‘smart casual’ work dress code.
Casual
long sleeve tee + black flats
As it gets warmer your sleeves can get shorter and you could swap the flats for some tennis shoes if you want. You’re in a casual office, go for comfort!
If you have a piece of clothing that has you stumped on how to style it for work, let me know! Maybe it can end up being the next piece I pick!
