I love adding a brooch to an outfit. I’d recommend trying it out on dresses, on suits, on sweaters, on coats – everything! And yes, let me be the first to say it – this advice might make you think of a grandma but then let me introduce you to the wide world of Kate Middleton and her collection of brooches and maybe that changes your mind! Yes?? I thought so.
A brooch is a piece of unexpected jewelry that can change an outfit. It adds a little bit of old world glamour to any outfit and everyone can use a little old world glamour in their lives. I also love using them to mix up my suits.
Suits get boring after a while and if I have an occasion to be in them for more than two days I am SUPER bored with them. When I add a brooch to the rotation it takes a normal black suit to something more and boy do I love more!

The best place to look for a brooch is etsy – there are some great ones that are reasonably priced. I mean we can’t all wear the crown jewels like our BFF Kate right? I usually like to stick to gold/silver/pearl but could be persuaded to branch out to diamond/cameo/rhinestones without too much work.
