Consider yourself on the clock – it’s less than 60 days to Christmas, less than 55 days to Hanukkah, and less than 30 days to my wedding… oh wait yall don’t really care about that last one… anyway! Here are 4 holiday tasks to go ahead and complete right now to make your life easier come the craziness of the holidays!
This is one that always catches me off guard. I know I need to get these out but then it keeps getting pushed farther down on my list until boom it’s New Years and I haven’t gotten anything out. Well not this year! I’m starting on my holidays cards early with Basic Invite. When I was scrolling through their family holiday cards (there’s so many by the way) I started to select a few that I was interested in! I really wanted to find one that played off merry and married or just a simple merry christmas card and there were so many I liked!
What I really loved is that I could change the font color to pretty much any color I wanted – seriously there’s over 150 different colors so you can definitely find one that matches your design perfectly, and I could see the change immediately when I was drafting the cards. I’m stuck between a few choices so, and here’s the other part I love about Basic Invite, I ordered a sample of the cards! So I’m going to get to touch them and see them in person before I order a million.
They also have this other great service that allows you to post or send a link to family or friends and they can enter their address so you’ll have an online address book. I didn’t need to use it since I had just gotten all the addresses for my wedding but I imagine this is going to be useful in years to come! PS if you are ready to start completing this one of your holiday tasks you can get 15% with code: 15FF51. Here are a few of the ones I’m choosing between – let me know which one you like best!
If you’re having guests to your house for the holidays then make sure your guest room is ready! Spend a night in the room to see what it needs or is missing. Do you need an extra blanket on the bed? Or maybe some hanging space in the closet? What about a suitcase valet? Same with the guest bath – fluffy towels? Maybe add some extra toiletries in case your guests forget them!
Write down all your shopping lists: grocery items (see #4) and gift lists. If you write down everything now you can buy it and stick to your budget. Be on the look out for all my gift guides that are about to drop in the next weeks! Also remember that multiple places are doing pre Black Friday deals. Target for example is giving you a holiday price match!
Get all your non-perishable grocery shopping done now. Get all the cream of mushroom soup, by fresh herbs and freeze them in olive oil, buy your wine, cranberry sauce, cake mix, canned green beans, gray packets, canned yams, anything you can think of that won’t go bad before your holiday dinner buy it now!
Checking off these four holiday tasks are going to seriously make your life easier when the holiday season gets into full swing! I’m going to be sending out a few holiday cards to a few followers, make sure you’re following on instagram and you’re signed up for my emails!
