You might be headed back into the office or you might be looking at working from home until 2022; either way here are some things you SHOULD bring back to the office when you go… and two that should stay home.
I’ve been back in the office full time for a few months now and I’ve been thinking through what I’m glad I brought back to the office and what I should kick out of my office.
Honestly, I miss working from home part time. I wasn’t ever working from home full time but the split I loved the most was three days in the office and two days out. It was so nice being able to get work done and also be able to run errands at lunch and not have a commute. I never get to pick up or drop off my dry cleaning during the week – ever. They open after I already have to be on the road and they close while I’m still on my commute. I know I cannot ever work full time from my house with my job and I love that, I love what I do, but I do miss the WFH life. If you’re in a hybrid situation you’ve got the best of both worlds – embrace it!
Make sure to grab these four items when you head back to the office!
Blue Light Glasses
I bought this pair when I was working from home and I cannot recommend them enough. They don’t have the usual tinted lenses but they still work amazing! I love how the lens isn’t yellow, it always make me look ill. These glasses have clear lenses so I get the same protection without looking sick.
Desk Lamp
While you’re working from home you have soft lights and not industrial lights. Bring this soft light back to your office space because it makes a world of difference. I’ve started turning off the overhead lights in my office now and just using the lamps in the room. I love it!
Refresh Spray
My skin care routine was ah-ma-zing while I was working from the house but now since I’m headed back in I’ve unfortunately let it slide. Yes, yes, I’ll get it back on track! But I purchased this refreshing spray and I’m using it at the office. Not only does it give me a little boost but it’s also giving me glowing skin.
Seat Cushion
One of the best purchases I’ve made since I’ve been back to the office is this cushion. My office chair sucks, it’s industrial, and paid for by tax dollars so it’s not exactly ergonomically correct. I mean TM bought his own chair and it’s intense and costs about 6x of what mine does. But this cushion saves my back. SAVES IT. If you’re headed back to crappy chairs then do your body a favor and get your booty a cushion!
Leave these at home…
Uncomfortable Shoes
I’m not telling you to say goodbye to heels (never!) but I am saying that if you have shoes that make your feet weep then leave those suckers at home! Get yourself a pair of heels that are chic and comfortable – my two recommendations are Ally and Sarah Flint. Check out those links for discount codes for each. If you ever have any questions on them, let me know.
Extra Makeup
My makeup routine has simplified, I rarely put on base now. I’m pretty sure it’s because my skin care routine was so intense during work from home that my skin doesn’t necessarily need the foundation now, yet another reason to get back into that skincare groove! But gone are the days of touching up my makeup during the day or before I meet people after work. Intense skincare = simplified makeup routine.
