Cheers to the snow melting, the power coming back on, and water (hopefully) headed back into my house. We were without power and water for days and if you’re watching my instagram stories you saw that my mom, myself, and both puppies had to head to my boyfriend’s house to stay warm.
When my mom reno’d her house she took out the fireplace so we had no warmth. My aunt’s pipes burst in her condo so she came with us. TM’s dad, stepmom, and stepsister, and their two dogs were also at his house… it was an adventure. We ended up turning our water off on Wednesday afternoon because we hadn’t had water since Monday and we didn’t want any water flooding the house when it started warming up, since we didn’t know why we had lost water in the first place.
All that to say we drank over the last week. I know you’re not supposed to drink to stay warm but once I was by a fireplace I was getting toasted in more ways that one. This gin cocktail was keeping me company especially since we needed to use the blackberries because the fridge was out of power.
