The full suit is the staple of every workplace. Black, navy, grey, pinstripe, etc sometimes suits are just boring! Here are 4 ways to spice up a suit if that’s all you can wear in your work place.
When I’m in trial for the week+ all I wear are suits. Pant suits, skirt suits, dress suits – suits all week. If I wear a full suit more than once in a week and I’m automatically bored. While trial isn’t the time for me to spice up my suits (boring is the proverbial name of the game during trial) there are definitely ways I’ve used to spice up a suit for the office.
- Add a piece of statement jewelry. Pick a statement necklace or statement earrings, not both! Adding a little extra oomph to a suit with your jewelry is an easy way to show your personality with a suit. Here’s the earrings I’m wearing in these photos.
2. Do something different with your hair. Do you usually wear it down? Then put it up in a full pony or a French twist – do you want to see an easy way to do one? Or how I make my pony that poufy? If you usually wear it up then wear your hair down and big to spice up your suit. Go full Dallas hair and enjoy it!
3. Slip on a pair of attention grabbing shoes. Grab a pair of colored heels to complement your dark suit or grab some with an embellishment on the toes. Let your shoes do the talking in this suit and strut in the office. There’s just something about a pair of pink heels with a navy suit that makes you walk a little different.
4. Layer with a bow or cuffs! If you can find a blouse with a neck bow or cuffs then add that under your suit. It’s super chic when the bow and cuffs peek out from your blazer. If you can’t find one then grab a detachable neck bow or collar or detachable cuffs. It’s also easy to add a ribbon tied in a bow under your button down collar for a little extra.
These are super easy ways to spice up a suit for work! If you’re in an office that requires a suit everyday or you choose to wear them a lot these are simple additions you can make to switch up your suits. You can also see all the other ways I’ve styled suits for the office!
